Case study
Four autonomous mowing robots keep the grass around the accommodations sharp all season, quietly and as much as possible out of the guest’s sight, together with the grounds team.
The challenge
At IJssel Eilanden the grass sits around the accommodations, along the Reeveweg and the Nieuwe Reve. A holiday park with changeover days, playing children and guests who are there all day. Mowing must not disturb the stay, and the result has to be right every day, especially in high season when the pressure on the grounds team is greatest.
The approach
We started with a pilot to prove it works, then rolled out in phases, together with the grounds team.
A pilot from 17 April to 11 May showed the technology works, even with multiple gardens and zones. Only then did we scale up.
Four Kress KR285E robots mow around 16,000 m² near the homes. At night (23:00–08:00) around the accommodations while guests are inside, the open strips by day. Every day, including Sunday.
Set up together with the grounds team: onboarding, training, incident protocol and no-go zones around playgrounds and private gardens. Monitored remotely, so we step in before anyone notices.
The result
The mowing quality is higher than with conventional mowing, and consistent every day.
Guests react positively and with interest to the robots on the park.
The grounds team experiences the robots as reinforcement, not replacement: the routine work goes, the attention stays.
“Bright Leisure gave us an enormous acceleration with AI on maintenance, staff deployment and guest experience. The inspiring, hands-on approach has made AI and robotics a real part of how we think and work.”
